Provincial Nominee

The Provincial Nominee Programs are the most rapidly expanding economic Immigration pathways to Canada. Provincial nominee programs (PNPs) are a pathway for many who want to immigrate to Canada and are interested in settling in a particular province or territory.

Each province and territory in Canada maintains its own PNP to fulfil its own economic and demographic requirements.

If you wish to immigrate to Canada under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), you must be nominated by a Canadian province or territory.

You must first submit an application to the PNP in the province or territory where you desire to settle. To qualify, you must possess the necessary skills, education, and work experience to settle in Canada and assist your family.

The province or territory will determine if you can satisfy their economic or labour market demands, as well as those of Canada.

There are two application methods for provincial nomination. The candidates may submit their applications in one of two ways: through a paper-based process or through the Express Entry online system. At least one immigration stream from each Provincial Nominee Program is aligned with the Express Entry System. The nominations granted under provincial nominee program streams connected with Express Entry are referred to as "enhanced nominations."

Nomination under an Express Entry PNP Stream: If you are not already in the Express Entry pool, you must complete an Express Entry profile and be accepted into the pool.

 OR

Nomination under a non-Express Entry PNP stream: Permanent resident candidates who were nominated under a non-Express Entry PNP stream must follow the standard application process to apply for permanent residence.

The selection criteria and requirements for obtaining a provincial nomination may vary by province.
