Poland Labour Market 2026: What Employers Need to Know

The labour market in Poland will become increasingly difficult for employers to deal with in 2026. Companies are struggling to find enough workers to complete their everyday obligations, such as daily operations, production tasks, transport activities, etc. The most severe pressure is prevalent in the area of blue-collar jobs, especially in fields like warehouse logistics, manufacturing, transport, cleaning, and hospitality.

Recently, in a study, it was reported that in 2026 the rate of unemployment in Poland was around 3-5%, one of the lowest figures in the EU. For employers, the problem is not only with recruiting. When workers and employees are not available, warehouses get idle, production facilities have problems, transport businesses fail to provide their services, and customer obligations are not fulfilled.

Why Poland Is Facing Labour Shortages

The shortage is a result of the fact that Poland has low unemployment, high industrial activity, and considerable demand for operational workers. As a result, a great number of employers require workers for jobs that need physical readiness, shift flexibility, technical qualifications, and discipline.

The particularly high shortage is in blue-collar jobs. According to the report, the highest demand is for warehouse workers, forklift operators, order pickers, line operators, sewers, food production workers, drivers, and cleaners.

This shows that local hiring is not enough in order for the company to function normally, meaning that international recruitment becomes vital.

Key Sectors Facing Hiring Pressure

Warehouse logistics is one of the industries that suffers the most. Employers are in need of warehouse workers, forklift operators with a UDT certificate, order pickers, and receiving or shipping specialists. The demand for certified forklift operators is immense.

Manufacturing is affected too. Food production companies are in need of bakers, butchers, packers, and factory workers. The light industry needs seamstresses and sewing operators. Transport companies need C+E driver license holders. Hospitality companies need cooks, cleaners, dishwashers, waiters, and other service sector employees.

What This Means for Employers

For employers in Poland, the labour shortage can cause increased overtime, delays in orders, quality issues with services, and even slower business growth. A shortage of staff in the warehouse can delay shipments. A lack of workers in a production line can make production targets impossible to achieve.

Companies providing accommodation, transport, food, and paying salaries on time can lower the number of employees leaving for another job. It is important to keep in mind that hiring people is only the first step. Employers need to retain hired workers as well.

How International Recruitment Can Help

International recruitment helps employers get access to a bigger talent pool. In the case of Poland, workers coming from countries such as India can provide support to logistics and other industries in Poland.

However, a proper procedure is required. Screening of candidates, checking their skill levels, processing documentation, explaining the job to the candidates, and planning the mobilisation process should be done properly. Otherwise, poor hiring can lead to problems such as delays in the hiring process and mistakes in selection.
