Job Description:
- The pipe fabricator is responsible for the preparation and assembly of piping components according to engineering specifications and industry standards.
- This position requires proficiency in various fabrication techniques, including welding, cutting, and fitting, as well as the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong welding and fabrication skills.
- Knowledge of various piping materials and their properties.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge & Qualification:
- Previous experience in pipe fabrication or a related field is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a pipe fitter or in a similar role within an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of various piping materials, systems, and installation techniques.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Cut, shape, and assemble piping materials (such as metal, plastic, or composite) to create custom piping systems based on project specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine the layout and dimensions of piping systems.
- Utilize various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick welding) to join pipes and fittings securely, ensuring structural integrity and leak prevention.
- Inspect fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and compliance with industry standards and specifications. Perform necessary adjustments or rework as needed.
- Select appropriate materials for fabrication based on project requirements, including considerations for pressure, temperature, and fluid type.
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment and tools, such as saws, drills, and welding machines, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and any changes made during the fabrication process.
