More than six in ten employers report difficulty filling positions. The issue is therefore not simply a lack of jobseekers. In many cases, the available skills do not match the jobs companies are trying to fill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this blog, we\u2019ll look at why this skills gap is important for Czech employers and what businesses should be thinking about when planning their workforce for 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Problem Is Often a Skills Mismatch<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Companies are not looking for just any available employee. Many vacancies require a particular trade, technical background or level of experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is especially clear in construction and automotive businesses, where employers often need people with very specific profiles. Technicians, engineers and skilled tradespeople have remained difficult to find for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That changes the hiring problem. Employers hiring in volume should also decide which skills are essential and which can be developed after joining.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the requirement is clear, the selection of candidates will be more useful, and the time spent reviewing unsuitable profiles will be reduced.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Build Workforce Requirements Before Demand Peaks<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Czechia&#8217;s labour pool is also becoming smaller.
