According to the latest report, the industries most impacted are information technology, food production, construction, skilled crafts and trades, and hospitality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A lack of manpower may impact the economy of the nation, but foreigners looking to relocate to Croatia may find employment opportunities as a result. Thirty shortage occupations were highlighted in Croatia in the most recent report from the European Labour Authority, which examines surpluses and shortages throughout EU member states. These occupations include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Workers in the building construction industry<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Operators of cranes, hoists, and similar plants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drivers of large trucks and lorries<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technicians and maintainers of electronics<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Installers and maintainers of electrical lines<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Electricians and fitters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Building and associated electricians<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mechanics and technicians for automobiles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Operators and tool setters for metalworking machines<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flame cutters and welders<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Painters and associated personnel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pipefitters and plumbers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roofers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joiners and carpenters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Splitters, carvers, stonemasons, and stone cutters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bricklayers and associated personnel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Waiters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chefs and associated culinary artists<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Administrators of systems<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Programmers for applications<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Additional Read:<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dss-hr.com\/blog\/israel-approves-bringing-in-92000-foreign-workers-amid-labor-shortage\"><b> Israel Approves Bringing In 92,000 Foreign Workers Amid Labor Shortage<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Croatian employment statistics have shown that, to date, in May 2024, there are about 88,300 unemployed people recorded in the country. On the other hand, there are roughly 125,000 job openings this month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That means approximately 36,700 vacancies would not be covered, even if unemployed persons could fill them. Regrettably, the report of the European Commission on the labor market policies of Croatia suggests that such measures have not been viewed as sufficient to meet the needs and gaps in the labor market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same report indicates that, in the fourth quarter of 2022, labor shortages were higher than before the pandemic in all sectors and above European averages. Such a long duration of shortages in the Croatian labor market cannot be matched with active labor market policies.
