Starting June 1, 2024, the cost of a national visa application (D-type) and the fee for reconsideration have undergone significant changes. The previous fee of \u20ac80 has been notably increased to \u20ac135, as announced by Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n

The recent adjustment in consular fees, which came into force on May 21, 2024, and was officially published in the Journal of Laws of 2024, item 774, is the driving force behind these modifications.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made it clear, stating, “Poland has been experiencing a consistent rise in migration pressure. Therefore, foreigners entering the Republic of Poland must adhere to their declared purpose of stay.” This is the key reason for the visa fee increase, as per the government’s perspective.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s important to note that according to the ministry, there will be no changes made to the application fee for a Schengen (C-type) visa or the fee for a reconsideration of an existing Schengen visa. These fees remain unchanged.<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to better accommodate foreign applicants seeking a Polish national visa for the first time, the visa fees have been raised. The increase in administrative service expenses associated with obtaining a Schengen visa, which is expected to prompt discussions among Schengen States to raise the charge from \u20ac80 to \u20ac90 in 2024, also aligns with this trend.<\/span><\/p>\n
